YouTube Video Downloader
This YouTube video downloader lets you save any public YouTube video in the quality you want. Pick from 4K, 1080p, 720p, or lower resolutions depending on what the original video supports. You can also pull just the audio as an MP3 file.
YouTube downloads can take a bit longer than other platforms. YouTube serves video and audio as separate streams, so we need to download both and then combine them into one file for you. The higher the quality you pick, the longer this merge step takes. Hang tight — it's worth the wait.

Frequently Asked Questions
What quality options are available for YouTube downloads?
You can download in whatever quality the original video was uploaded at, up to 4K (2160p). Most videos support 1080p, 720p, 480p, and 360p. The quality selector shows you all available options before you download.
Can I download YouTube Shorts?
Yes. Just copy the Shorts URL and paste it into ClipRip. Shorts download exactly like regular videos. You will get the vertical video file ready to save.
How do I convert a YouTube video to MP3?
Paste the YouTube URL into ClipRip and select the MP3 format option instead of a video quality. The audio gets extracted and converted to MP3 for you to download. Great for music, podcasts, or lectures.
Is downloading YouTube videos legal?
Downloading videos you have permission to download, like Creative Commons content or your own uploads, is fine. Downloading copyrighted content without permission may violate YouTube's Terms of Service. Use your judgment and respect content creators.
Why can I not download some YouTube videos?
Some videos are restricted by the uploader or by regional settings. Private and unlisted videos that you do not have access to will also not work. If a video is publicly viewable, it should be downloadable.
Do I need to create an account?
No. ClipRip works without any account or login. Just paste a link and download. No signup, no email, no personal info collected.
