Frequently Asked Questions
How do I download a video from Twitter?
Open the tweet with the video, tap the share icon, and copy the link. Then paste that link into ClipRip and hit download. You can also copy the URL directly from your browser address bar if you are on desktop.
Can I download Twitter GIFs?
Yes. Twitter actually stores GIFs as short MP4 video files on their end. When you download a Twitter GIF through ClipRip, you get an MP4 file that loops just like the original.
Does this work with the new X.com links?
Absolutely. ClipRip works with both the old twitter.com URLs and the new x.com URLs. It also handles t.co shortened links that Twitter generates when you share from the app.
What video quality will I get?
Twitter typically encodes videos at multiple bitrates. ClipRip grabs the highest quality version available, which is usually 720p or 1080p depending on what the original uploader posted.
Can I download videos from protected/private accounts?
No. ClipRip can only download videos from public tweets. If an account is set to private, their tweets are not accessible to our service.
